NFL is looking more and more familiar to Steelers

Everyone is talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 2009 NFL season kicks off. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the 2008 Super Bowl Champs. They have won 6 Super Bowl Championships that is highest ever by any NFL team. Therefore, it’s obvious that NFL looks more and more familiar to the Steelers.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers won the 2008 Super Bowl Championships, their official merchandize was sold like anything. Every NFL fan wanted to feel associated with the team and there’s no great way to show your support than by sporting the official team merchandise.

The Steelers merchandize is available in the form of headwear, jerseys, home & office décor, jewelry, tailgating & outdoors, accessories, gifts, auto accessories, games & electronics. You can buy your NFL merchandise from any licensed sports store or online. And if you are looking for the

How Bout Them Cowboys??

How Bout Them Cowboys??

As I sit down for my traditionally untraditional Thanksgiving meal this year, I am faced with a conundrum happened across by many a vagabond sports fan. As is tradition, Thanksgiving is inundated with the sights and sounds of professional football. My dilemma, however, is not what to watch, rather, it is a question of who to be pulling for as mounds of turkey and stuffing are being shoveled into my extremely grateful face. With my traditional, “always leave room for pie” sweatpants on, I am faced with a decision between hometown heroes and childhood chums. Yes, it is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traveling to Dallas, Texas to take on America’s Team, slightly less known by the moniker, the Dallas Cowboys. I grew up with those Cowboys. In fact, as I’m watching the pre-game proceedings, my mother is rustling through a distant closet in an attempt to find my hand-knitted Cowboys helmet I donned as a tot watching countless Cowboy games. It was the kind that came down

The Evolution Of Professional American Football

The Evolution Of Professional American Football

The beginnings of American Football can be traced back to the English sport of rugby, which began in the Rugby Boy’s School in England some time in 1823. It can also be traced back to soccer, which is also an English game that was played as early as the 1820s. The rules of American Football were instituted by Walter Camp, a coach and athletic director from Yale but were a collaborative effort from different American universities. In a sense, Pro American Football was developed from competitions among colleges, which at that time, had very fierce team rivalries when it came to sports. The rivalries soon picked up a national audience and its immense popularity resulted to the establishment of a professional football association.

The First Professional American Football League

The first American Football association was formed in 1920 and was named the American Professional Football Association (APFA). The APFA handed out franchises around

Chicago Limousines: Attending Concert Guide

If you are thinking of going to some concert in Chicago then you must attend it but one thing is more important; these concerts are flooded with people and due to these countless number of people you may have to face the parking problem which is not avoidable. You are going to entertain yourself not for wasting your time in parking. There is a solution to your problem “hiring a Chicago limousine” and go to the concert in comfortable style.

To choose a limousine for you is not as easy as ABC and numerous things you will have to bear in your mind before choosing a service.

How many people will go with you to the concert?
Number of people will help you in deciding size of limousine.
Hire Hummer if you exceed 20 people.
Cadillac Escalade can also be hired as per your choice.

The other thing is to ask for a Chicago limousine company that has some weight in the eyes of its customers. A company should have some standards that could be seen easily and that

NFL Week 15 Power Rankings

Week 15 NFL Power Rankings: All 32 Teams

The NFL is great. Why is it great? Because (and excuse the cliché) on any given Sunday, any team beat any team. It’s impossible to figure out who will beat who. The Redskins lose to the Lions, yet come within a chip shot field goal of beating the Saints. The Jets beat the Patriots, but lose to the Bills. The Packers are a top five offensive team and the No. 1 defense and lost to the Buccaneers. The Raiders can lose to the Chiefs, but then beat the Eagles and Bengals. And I haven’t even mentioned the defending Super Bowl champions losing to the Chiefs, Raiders and Browns. Yes, the NFL is great and the final three weeks of the 2009 season are going to be fun to watch. Four 7-6 teams in the AFC fighting for just one playoff spot while things in the NFC are just as competitive. With 15 weeks under our belts, here are the latest NFL Power Rankings.

Teams’ previous ranking in (

NFL Power Rankings: Week 12

NFL Power Rankings: Week 12

1. (1) Indianapolis Colts (10-0)

The oddsmakers had the undefeated Colts underdogs at Baltimore, expecting a letdown after that incredible comeback win over the Pats.  Peyton Manning, however, is never an underdog.

2. (2) New Orleans Saints (10-0)

For the fifth straight contest, New Orleans was not ahead after one quarter of play.  The Saints certainly played a lot better over the final 45 minutes, but they can’t afford to get off to a slow start next Monday Night against New England.

3. (4) Minnesota Vikings (9-1)

I’m not happy about it, but Brett Favre has to be near the top of the list of NFL MVP candidates right now.  He leads the league in QB rating (112.1) and has thrown the least amount of interceptions among full-time starters (three).  I’d still go with Manning right now, though.

4. (5) New England Patriots (7-3)

Les Miles’ coaching at the end

Coming off their first road win in more than a month, the Pirates try to continue their success against the Cubs on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.

Rookie Jose Tabata’s go-ahead double in the ninth inning helped Pittsburgh (26-50) snap a 17-game road losing streak with a 2-1 win over Chicago on Monday — its first victory away from home since May 25. The result also ended a six-game overall skid.

“We’re not going to let the numbers get to us,” outfielder Lastings Milledge told the Pirates’ official website. “We still got a lot of season to play.”

Though the Pirates have the NL’s worst record and are 30 games below .500 versus all other opponents, they are 8-2 against the Cubs (33-43), with six of those victories

Lollapalooza Tickets – Lollapalooza 2010 Lineup Impresses Once Again

After months of anticipation, festival organizers for this summer’s Lollapalooza Festival finally gave up the goods and announced the lineup on April 6. In March, festival organizers began to leak information about Lollapalooza 2010 via a Wheel of Fortune-meets-hangman game on its official website. Pollstar.com reported that as of March 31 organizers revealed that every “O” contained in the bands’ named booked for Lollapalooza and “R” was added the following day. The speculation about performers heated up and all questions were answered on April 6, when the headliners were announced to be Green Day, Phoenix and The Strokes.

Also headlining Lollapalooza at Chicago’s Grant Park Aug. 6-8 will be Lady Gaga and the reunited Seattle quartet Soundgarden. The impressive bill also features Arcade Fire, MGMT, Social Distortion, Jimmy Cliff, Hot Chip, the Black Keys, Spoon, Devo, Cypress Hill, the National, Cut Copy, Erykah Badu, Slightly Stoopid, the New Pornographers,
