As in the 2003 season, the Vikings finished the season going 3–7 over the final 10 weeks. Unlike 2003, however, they made the playoffs with an 8–8 record. Daunte Culpepper amassed MVP-like statistics, throwing for 4,717 passing yards (leading the NFL), 39 passing touchdowns (a Viking record), and 5,123 total yards (an NFL record). The Vikings started their 2006 season with two narrow victories. They edged the Washington Redskins in Washington by a field goal, 19–16, and beat the Carolina Panthers at home, 16–13. They lost their next two games, one to the Chicago Bears (16–19) and the other to the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo (12–17).In week five of the season, the Vikings relied on points scored late in the game to win against the Detroit Lions. While down 17–3 going into the fourth quarter, the Vikings scored 23 unanswered points,

Host a super football-themed birthday party

July 13, 2010 Written by: Tyna Lewis

As hard as it may be to believe, the beginning of football season is less than two months away. NFL training camps start in only a few weeks and before you know it, the first kickoff of the year will be upon us. A football-themed party would be the perfect idea for anybody who has a birthday in the near future and who can’t get enough gridiron action. Hosting a great pigskin extravaganza can be an easy way to score a touchdown with someone special.

Sending out exciting invitations is the best pre-game routine to ensure your shindig is a success. This can be an opportunity to be clever and play on the motif. One way to do this is to create ones that look like tickets to the big game. Instead of the name of the teams playing, put who the event is for, and in the area where seats would be, put the location of the venue. Ticket-like invitations are not the only option, however. They can even be shaped like a football

Get Super Bowl Tickets to See the Colts Get it Done

If you’re looking for Super Bowl tickets to see if Peyton Manning and the Colts can get the job done and walk away with their first Lombardi Trophy in Indianapolis, you’re one of millions who would jump at the chance to see the game live in Miami.  The Colts are heavily favored in their match up with the Chicago Bears, but they will have to do much more than simply show up.  Below are some factors that should be in place if the final score shows that the Colts are the world champions.

Keep the Demons at Bay

The AFC Championship game against the Patriots was not only a team victory for the Colts, but also a personal vindication for Peyton Manning.  He had spent most of his college and professional career dealing with the reputation of not being able to “win the big one.”  That all flew out the window last week, though, as Manning led the Colts to an 18-point comeback against their old nemesis.  If Manning can continue to slay that dragon

Raising the Bar on Sunday Afternoon NFL Games

I have a friend, who at one time was a neighbor, that has elevated Sunday Afternoon Football to a whole new level. My friend, Joe, is a lifelong Bears fan and diehard football fan all around. I don’t see Joe much anymore since we moved out of the neighborhood but the family’s still get together on the holidays and we stay in touch.

So I get a call from Joe last August and he tells me he’s having a Bears Party for the first game of the season. Joe has single-handedly cornered the market on everything Bears. Most people have a den or family room in their house, Joe has a Bears Shrine. You name it; he’s got it if it has something to do with the Chicago Bears team.

So I get to the party and it’s in the back yard. Prior to this it was always in the driveway and garage since that’s where the game was watched every Sunday. Joe’s got a nice backyard with a good-sized deck with huge barbecue and smoker rig. But I also noticed what appeared to be

10 Good Looks for Your 09′ Fantasy Football Team

Some call them sleepers, others may call them value picks…I like to refer to them as “good looks”. Like in basketball when a player makes a good pass, they say “good look”. In other words, players worth taking a good look at. Always lookin’ out for you, here are some good looks to keep in mind for your 2009 fantasy draft:

1. Matt Forte- Almost everybody has Adrian Peterson going first, but what about second? Well, on April 3, 2009 Matt Forte went from being a fantasy stud, to serious consideration for this spot when the Bears acquired not only Jay Cutler but also massive OT Orlando Pace. Jay Cutler’s arm will open up the field for Forte and if Pace can stay healthy, watch out for a monster year from the second year back.

2. Michael Turner- the NIU product and former LT backup took the fantasy world by storm last year. Add Tony Gonzalez and give Matt Ryan another year under his belt and the sky is the limit. Absolute tree trunks for
